Recently we visited Bristol Zoo – a great family day out if you are out and about in the South West of the UK.
Although it’s not as big as London Zoo the animals all seem well cared for and we found the staff very approachable and really knowledgeable!
If you plan your day right you can move between areas and catch a lot if not all of the daily talks about each of the animals and some of the feeding times.
We caught a great talk at the meercat enclosure and saw them have their food – the member of staff taught us so much and was happy to answer our questions afterwards. There is a lot to be learned at Bristol Zoo!
There is a great creepy crawly and lizard area, dimly lit inside and atmospheric.
I particularly liked the aquarium with its walkthrough tunnel, there is something awesome about being surrounded by the water and seeing the fish swim overhead!
I definitely have a soft spot for primates and Bristol Zoo does not disappoint. For example there is a fantastic playing/living quarters for the gorillas – the glass allows you to feel so close to them, it makes you so aware of their size and power!
We were lucky enough to see a baby ring tailed lemur that had been born recently at the zoo and although it clung to its mother we managed to get this sneaky photo!
How cute is that!!
If you get a chance a trip to Bristol Zoo makes a great day out :)
